Kadans competed internationally at Grand Prix level with Canadian rider Tom Dvorak until the fall of 2004 when he returned to Horizon Equestrian in Alberta Canada. He is a powerful horse with an excellent temperament and has produced many top offspring.
Kadans has been evaluated by Dr. Mikael Holmstrom, the Vet. / Researcher from Sweden who has developed a computer system to analyze horse conformation to determine elite prospects in both dressage and jumping. Kadans scored 8.32 in both dressage and jumping. This is a very high score, noting that any horse of international caliber and success has scored at least an 8.
Imported from dressage trainer Bert Rutten of Holland in 1993 at the age of 17 months, Kadans is by the Dutch Warmblood Stallion El Corona, who also sired the 1999 Pan Am Dressage Silver Medalist Korona, owned and ridden by Shannon Oldham-Dueck.
"Not only is Kadans attractive, he is a very talented and willing horse to work with. The good quality of his canter made flying changes very easy for him to learn and he has shown a natural ability for Piaffe and Passage. Kadans has been a very consistent and successful competitor to date and we think he has a great future." Tom Dvorak
"Kadans is the ideal sport horse stallion. The top Dutch bloodiness of both jumper and dressage horses are in Kadans' lineage. His sire, El Corona, has produced several approved stallions and mares in Holland. Kadans has the size and athletic ability to sire top quality performance horses in any discipline. " Betty Briggs
